Why a whole site about eight keyword tools
Querywell reads vendor pricing pages, writes down what it finds with the date, and refuses to rank keyword tools on accuracy — because accuracy is the one thing nobody outside Google can check.
What this site does
Querywell covers one narrow subject: software for finding, sizing and grouping keywords. It reads each vendor's own pricing page, copies the numbers down with the day they were read, describes what the tool puts on screen, and publishes which of the links here can earn it money.
It does not test the tools' accuracy, because testing it would require Google's real search counts, and those are not available to anyone outside Google. Any site that ranks keyword tools by accuracy without publishing a method is inventing a league table.
How a price gets onto a page here
- The vendor's own pricing page is opened and read, with the billing toggle clicked both ways. Several of these pages build their prices in the browser, so they are read in a real browser rather than fetched as text.
- Both figures are recorded: the monthly price and the annual price expressed per month, because vendors advertise whichever flatters them.
- If a vendor advertises a saving without printing the resulting number, the page here says "not published". Ahrefs and Ubersuggest are both in that position, and the arithmetic is not done on their behalf.
- A promotional rate with a countdown on it is not a price. Ubersuggest's annual column was showing one the day this site read it, so no annual figure for Ubersuggest appears anywhere here.
- The date of the reading goes on the page, in the footer and in the site's notes, so a stale number is visibly stale.
What you will not find here
- Accuracy percentages, database counts or freshness claims presented as fact. Where a vendor makes such a claim about itself, it is quoted and attributed — Ahrefs and Mangools both claim things about their own difficulty scores that flatly contradict each other, and both quotes are on this site.
- Coupon codes or "exclusive discount" boxes. Several of the programmes behind the links here forbid them outright, and a discount this site cannot honour is a lie in a box.
- A sign-up form. Nothing on this site collects an email address, because there is no mailing list behind it. A form that posts nowhere is worse than no form.
- Rankings that move when a payout does. Three of the eight tools covered pay this site a share; the free Google tools and Ahrefs, which pay nothing, are recommended above them wherever that is the honest answer.
Who writes it
Querywell is a small independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for Ahrefs, Semrush, Mangools, Moz, SE Ranking, Keyword Insights, Neil Patel Digital, Google or Microsoft. Vendor names are used only to say which product is being described.
If a number here is wrong — and prices move constantly — the corrections page explains how to say so and what happens next.
